Cars in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Around fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then discovered many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the public for information.

An important official said the vandalism made him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
